Subject: T+34, Special Medical Report

I just got back from my regular clinic visit, and got some news that I have 
to pass on.

They got the first results back from the bone marrow biopsy done on me last 
week.  The results are all good.   There is no indication of any 
myleodisplasia, excess blasts or other unusual cells in my marrow stem cells. 
In other words, there is every indication that the leukemia has left my body.
This is the first positive indication of this since this whole thing 
started.  They will get results for the dna testing to confirm this by next 
week or so, but I am confident that this should also produce similar results.

They need to do the dna testing because they cannot visually differentiate 
between my old cells and my brother's new cells.  An interesting aside.  I 
spoke to another bmt guy who had a sister as a perfect match donor.  He 
doesn't need the dna sequencing to determine the old cells from the donor 
cells.  All of his blood cells now have XX chromosomes, which are easily 
distinguished from his old XY chromosomes.  In other words, his blood cells 
are now female, yet another strange effect of this amazing medicine.  

I forgot to include this:  The answers to The Birds trivia questions.  The 
town, female and male leads and bird types are:  Bodega Bay, California, 
Tippi Hedron, Rod Taylor, seagulls and crows.  Only one totally correct 
answer, but several near misses.
