I have had some people sending emails asking if I am OK, since they haven't 
heard from me in a few days. 

I am just fine.  The doctor confirmed that I am getting out of here on Monday 
morning, if nothing else changes.

I am going through a mild case of graft versus host (gvh) disease, which 
sounds ominous, but actually is not only reasonably common, but the course 
that it has taken so far is optimal for my long term survival.  There is 
actually a long term survival advantage of getting gvh relative to not 
getting it at all.  The gvh is why I was not out of here yesterday or today.  
 

I have not sent out a general message in a few days for several reasons.  
Most of my email list only gets this through work, and they don't read it 
until Monday morning.  I figured that if they could take the weekend off, 
then I should be able to take the weekend off.  Even soap operas run Monday 
thru Friday.  But the most important reason is that I haven't had the time to 
write up an adequate desciption of the graft versus host and the very 
interesting, and potentially life saving, graft versus leukemia effects. 

I realize the concern that some have had not getting my daily, and sometimes 
hourly, updates.  I will attempt to send out at least a short message every 
day so this doesn't happen again.
