Subject: Special appeal for more platelet and whole lood donors

I have more than enough volunteer donors for both platelets and whole blood 
already in the pipeline.  

However, this appeal is not for me, but for my new friend, Dario.  Dario is a 
17 year old who has been fighting leukemia since he was 10.  He is going 
through a bone marrow transplant, the same thing I just went through, as a 
last resort effort to beat his disease.  He is in the room just north of 
mine.  

He needs donors for both platelets and whole blood.  His blood type is A 
positive, so he can use donors with type O neg, O pos, A neg and A Pos.  This 
should let some of you who couldn't donate for me to get into the action.

Knowing where he is in the BMT process, it seems that his need for blood 
products will start up within a few days, and continue fo a while.

So, if  anyone is interested in being a part of this, please email me ASAP 
with your name and phone number.  I will compile these and send the lists to 
the right people here.  I will then get back to you with further instructions 
on how to set up an appointment.  Unfortunately, you will need to come here 
to PSL Hospital to make the donations.

Pass this around to others who may not be on my previous lists. Let's do a 
good thing for this kid.
