Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 1999 10:51 AM Subject: T+13, 2nd Special Report I just had the docs in here for their morning rounds. They said that my whites are at 4.4, and they may drop some as the initial types of white cells may disappear as more main line ones develop. However, this is viewed as very good news. My platelets may also dropped and they are not far above what I need before they give me more. I had a question this morning if platelet donations need to continue, a very good question. The docs said that since they can't predict what my platelets will do, that you should continue coming in and donating. I will let you know if it is reasonable to stop. I feel great this morning, with only residual mouth sores and no throat pain. I can drink a whole glass of water with no problem, quite a contrast to the tiny sips I've been taking all week. I am also looking forward to my first veggie burgers in more than two weeks, and other similar food. The docs said that the same forces at work on my mouth and throat are doing their thing on my whole gi track, so the range of foods available to me opens up a lot. Mac/chees is all right, but not for every single meal besides breakfast. I think I am getting French Toast for breakfast today. The doctor also confirmed that I should be out of the hospital by the end of the week. Not out of the woods, but I am looking forward to breathing some real outside air, even if it is the brown cloud. Dave
