Sent: Thursday, September 30, 1999 6:04 PM Subject: Bone Marrow Update, 9/30/99 Friends, Due to the results of the latest bone marrow biopsy, the date of the transplant has been moved up. I will be going into the hospital in Denver on Friday, October 15. The transplant itself will be on October 21. This week has been tough, but my spirits are presently very good. I will need platelet donors beginning about 2 days after I enter the hospital, and for several weeks thereafter. The doctor said that the platelet donation takes about 2 hours, during which time they make you watch a bad movie. All of you who have volunteered for the donations: Please reconfirm via email or phone. The rest of you who want to volunteer: Please let me know as soon as you can. It really doesn't hurt. I am looking into getting an inexpensive video gadget to take pictures in the hospital. This allows pictures to be included with outgoing email, as well as real time video phone operation. They cost from about $50 to about $120. Does anyone know anything about them? The product names include the Intel PC Camera or the Logitech Quikcam. The email responses that I have been receiving from these updates are typically direct responses to my emails. Come on out there. Let me know what's new and interesting in your lives. This will be very important to me in the hospital and thereafter. Otherwise, a major source of outside contact and information may be the Jerry Springer show. Just think how that might affect me. Dave
