Hello there,

Well, I am back from Chicago and everything there went as well as it could.  
Due to my lack of acting normal enough during the last several months of 
phone calls and my mysterious trip to Chicago that did not include getting 
the absolute cheapest air fare, my Mother knew something was up and something 
was wrong.  She was prepared for bad news, but not my particular problem.  
She, like many of you, just did not expect me to get so sick so quickly.  
Anyway, she's on board and will be spending many months in Denver starting in 
early November.

Concerning JoAnne's recent email about removing the secrecy.  I would 
appreciate any of you telling anyone else that knows me about what is going 
on.  However, please have people email me instead of calling.  I just don't 
have the time to go through the whole story many more times over.  I will add 
these new folks to the email list and keep them regularly updated.

One big thing for anyone in Colorado.  I will be in need of platelets at 
certain points in my treatment.  If you or anyone else may be interested in 
donating, please contact me via email.  We are making up a list.  Right now, 
the donations need to be made at Pres/St. Lukes in Denver.  I will try to see 
if they can arrange to do it through the various Bonfils locations in and 
around the Front Range.  This would be very convenient for people in, for 
example, Denver West or Boulder.  The basic process is like donating blood, 
except that the platelets are continuously removed from the donor blood, and 
the remaining parts of that blood are put back into the donor through the 
other arm.  

I need to go pack.  We leave for Maui tomorrow.
